ABOUT Shon
A familiar name in the music scene in Mumbai, Shon Pinto is reputed to being one of the most respected and renowned guitarists in the circuit.
Having worked with some of the most prominent names in the Indian music industry, Shon has carved a noteworthy name for himself having rendered his guitar playing skills for several Bollywood songs.
Shon Pinto grew up in Mumbai and studied music under the guidance of a local choir teacher before joining various pop-rock bands. He then went on to spending a few years playing in some of Mumbai's iconic venues such as Jazz by the Bay, BlueFROG, Hard Rock Cafe and many more.
In time, Shon got a call to audition for the ace music composer's, SHANKAR-EHSAAN-LOY BAND.

Since then he has performed on notable venues across the world along with artists like SALIM-SULEIMAN, ADNAN SAMI, FARHAN AKTHAR, KK and SIDDHARTH MAHADEVAN to name a few.

In 2011, Shon went on to perform at MTV Unplugged with various artists such as RABBI SHERGIL, MOHIT CHAUHAN, SHILPA RAO, and JAVED ALI.

He has also played on Coke Studio with CLINTON CEREJO and AMIT TRIVEDI. The season was hailed, by music critics as one of the best seasons ever produced. The season included songs such as Madari, Saathi Salaam and Chaudhary to name a few.
As a recording artist he has recorded for A.R. REHMAN for movies such as Rockstar and Jab Tak Hain Jaan . He has also recorded and produced many songs for RAM SAMPATH including Bhaag DK Bose and the movies like Raees and many more.
He has worked with AMIT TRIVEDI with movies such as Udaan, Aisha, admissions open and the score of Wake Up Sid, all of whom are movies known for their great music.
Shon continues to tour with Shankar mahadevan and the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy band . He collaborates with other artist time and again. And when he's not globetrotting he keeps busy in his own studio doing sessions writing his own music and teaching a select bunch of students.
Right from the time I have been performing Shon has been with me. He is a person with immense depth about the knowledge, harmony and aesthetic of music. A lot of arrangement ideas we discuss, Shon plays an important role in that. I feel privileged to be associated with Shon.
